The renovated Gallery and Studio at Eleven Spitalfileds was re-opened at a special private view on Friday 5th May, in which the work of artists Anthony Eyton RA, Julie Held and photographer Clarisse D'Arcimoles was revealed for the Substance & Light exhibition. The exhibition is accompanied by a gallery publication entitled ‘Compendium’ designed and edited by former Gallery Director Anita Lawlor in collaboration with Chris Dyson, with a foreword by Edwin Heathcote, architecture critic of The Financial Times.
Previously used as CDA's studio space, the original studio has been extended downwards to form a new basement, with a bridged connection between the original Dyson House and Gallery and the newly renovated Rear Studio. The new basement features a dramatic board marked concrete ceiling, and central void to the ground floor allowing natural light in.
