The pumping station was built in 1913 in red brick and stone and was decommissioned several years ago. Our designs convert this structure into a new family home. We intend to introduce a mezzanine floor into the cavernous pumping hall to create 4 bedrooms above an open plan ground floor containing a series of flowing living spaces. Our designs respond to the raw architecture of the pumphouse, with all existing walls and structural elements exposed and new insertions created using a modern, industrial aesthetic.
